This particular piece of art is one I am SO proud of. Inspired by mom’s sudden passing, this is the first piece in my newest collection about looking on the “gold side” of every dark moment.

The dark side of the moon is often thought to be mysterious. The unknown can be frightening to anyone forced to venture into it. But, with every dark side, there is an opportunity to see the beauty in it. For me, I was fortunate enough to have my mom around for 26, wonderful years I wouldn’t trade for the world.

While I miss her every single moment, I find beauty in my memories. This experience has been terrifying; it’s been my dark side of the moon. But through it, I find the gold side – a side brimming with love, with light, and with magic.

My mom would love that. This painting – this entire collection – is meant to inspire others to find their own gold through every dark time. Because they do exist. We just need to change the way we look at them.
